Step #1 - Homeowners Policy
When was the last time you really read the homeowners (HO) policy? We’ll do a complete overview of the HO policy, including all of the changes that have come down through ALL of the edition dates. Everyone should start on a level playing field. This may be your "Intro" course to the HO policy or a great "refresher" one.

Not Offered in 2013 - Call Association Education at 1-800-222-2699 for future scheduling.

Step #2 - MA Personal Auto Policy
The Personal Auto Policy (PAP) can be the "bread and butter" for many agencies! Gain a solid understanding of the coverages provided under this widely sold policy. Whether you’re an "old pro" at personal auto — or not — you must complete this course to become a "Proven Personal Lines Professional".

Finished for 2013 - Call Association Education at 1-800-222-2699 for future scheduling.

Step #3 - Miscellaneous Property Coverage

We’ll take an in-depth look at the:

  1. Condominium Policy...what you need to consider when selling it, the differences between it and the HO policy and potential E&O problems;
  2. Dwelling Fire Policy...why you use it, and what it does that the HO policy would not do; and
  3. Inland Marine coverages...when they are used and coverages provided.

Finished for 2013 - Call Association Education at 1-800-222-2699 for future scheduling.

Step #4 - Boats, Flood & Personal Umbrella

We’ve got three great topics to cover:

  1. Boat & Yacht Policies - you’ll enjoy a lively discussion on the important issues, concepts and coverages provided in these policies;
  2. Flood - let’s take a close look at the coverages found under the Dwelling Flood Form, flood eligibility requirements and other important issues; and
  3. Personal Umbrella Policy - we’ll compare important issues and usual conditions & provisions.

Step #5 - Issues & Problems In The Homeowners Policy

When you reach STEP 5, you’re over the hump! We’ll discuss:

  • How to understand the "ordinance or law" exclusion, E&O problems for agents, & how to provide coverage;
  • How to suggest the new ISO "Additional Limits of Insurance" endorsement which provides the answer to the "guaranteed replacement cost" issue; and
  • The "business issue" to see what’s excluded, what’s covered and available endorsements.

  • What "furnished for regular use" means and the "public or livery use" issue; and
  • How do you adequately cover the equipment on customized vehicles; and
  • The problems in a complex PAP with a case study of a true-to-life client complete with divorce, remarriage, step children, company cars and business activities.

Step #7- Account Development Techniques/E&O Tips & Traps/Personal Lines Claims
You’ve made it to the final step! You know a lot about the coverages, but you need to learn how to round out your client’s account. We’ll show you how to avoid E&O exposures and how to implement some "fast fixes" for important E&O considerations. And finally, we’ll discuss how you can keep those hard earned clients by providing efficient and helpful claims services.
