Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI)

The Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI) Designation gives you the tools you need to establish a clear professional advantage in the marketplace and fulfill your commitment to customer service. In today's increasingly complex property-casualty insurance marketplace, only producers with in-depth insurance knowledge and a strong focus on customer service have a competitive edge. In just 9 one-day seminars, you can earn the AAI Designation!

How to Earn the AAI Designation:
Each AAI Course (AAI 81, 82 and 83) is broken into three segments - A, B & C.
  • Attend all three segments for each part - ONLY 9 one-day seminars in all!
  • At the end of each classroom segment, a 30 question multiple choice exam will be given.
  • When you successfully complete all 9 segments and pass the corresponding exams, you will earn the AAI Designation!
  • Starting in 2011, completing the free online Ethical Guidelines for Insurance Professionals (Ethics 311) is a requirement of all The Institutes' associate designation programs (AAI, AIC, ARM, AU, etc.). This requirement applies to anyone who completes an Institutes' designation after December 31, 2010.

    Once payment is received, AAI books will be shipped in ADVANCE of scheduled class.  Self-study is RECOMMENDED because of the volume of information covered in each class.

    TUITION: $185.00/member $285.00/non-member
    REGISTRATION: 7:30 a.m.
    CLASS TIME: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    EXAM: 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    The exam is optional. You will receive the CEUs without taking the exam. You are required to take and pass the exam if you want to receive the designation.
Photo ID: You must present a photo ID to the registrar at all program locations.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:
Cancellations received ANYTIME prior to the scheduled class will incur a $105.00 fee.

However, one (1) free substitution or one (1) class transfer within a calendar year is permissible. All future transfers will result in a $105.00 penalty fee. Failure to take any action and being a 'no show' at class will result in the loss of the full registeration.

AAI 81A - Principles of Insurance...................................................................................8 CEUs
An overview of the Insurance business including principles, nature and organization as well as legal issues, risk management and insurance sales & account development.

AAI 81B - Personal Lines........................................................................................8 CEUs
Includes homeowners, dwelling, flood, personal auto, miscellaneous vehicles, inland marine, aviation, and personal umbrella. In addition… personal financial products, social security and various life insurance products will be examined.

AAI 81C - Commercial Property......................................................................8 CEUs
Includes building and personal property coverage forms, business income coverage forms, causes of loss forms and several commonly used inland marine policies.

Course Waiver Information:
The AAI 81 (segment A, B and C) exams will be waived if student meets one of the following criteria:
  • If you have passed AINS 21, 22, and 23, the AAI 81 exam requirement is waived.
  • If you have passed CPCU 551, 552, and 553; or if you have passed CPCU 551, 552, and 555, the AAI 81 exam requirement is waived.
  • If you have completed Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) courses 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, and 11, the AAI 81B segmented exam requirement is waived.
  • If you have completed Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) courses 4,5,6,7,8, and 9, the AAI 82A segmented exam requirement is waived.
  • A waiver is available for AAI 81 if you hold the CIC designation. To apply for this waiver, use this waiver form.
  • NOTE: Non-Institute courses or designations are subject to a $150 application fee per waiver.

Includes occurrence and claims made liability policies and their popular endorsements, commercial auto, garage and truckers policies.

Includes Commercial Crime, Business Owners and Farm Insurance, Workers Compensation and various other miscellaneous commercial coverages including business life insurance.

AAI 82C - Specialized Commercial Lines.........................................................8 CEUs
Includes specialized property coverages, commercial umbrella, ocean marine and commercial aviation coverages. In addition, the various types of surety bonds will be examined for proper use and coverages provided.
