Certified Commercial Lines Professional (CCLP) Designation

MAIA's commercial lines professional designation program... Certified Commercial Lines Professional (CCLP)

This designation is a series of one-day courses on a variety of commercial lines products. While discussing coverage, you will also learn about the opportunities that arise to sell / up-sell or cross-sell within these product lines to meet your client's need.


The program was designed for those who care about their professionalism and want to be successful in their career!

We recommend this program to:
  • Individuals who are currently working in commercial lines
  • Individuals who are transitioning into commercial lines
  • Or Individuals who are cross-training in commercial lines

The Certified Commercial Lines Professional (CCLP) Designation consists of seven parts:

Understanding the Business Auto Policy (BAP) - Part 3 6 CEUs
Understanding the Business Auto Policy (BAP) - Part 4 6 CEUs
Miscellaneous Commercial Lines Topics - Part 5 6 CEUs
Miscellaneous Commercial Lines Topics - Part 6 6 CEUs
Reviewing E&O Exposures - Part 7 6 CEUs
(It is not required to take each part in sequential order.)

To Earn MAIA's CCLP Designation:

  1. You must take all parts and pass an exam* that is administered at the end of
    Part 7 - Reviewing E&O Exposures.

  2. You must provide us with verification, via a manager's signature, that you have been involved in a new sale, upsell or cross-sell of 4 different policies within the CCLP series (BOP, BAP, WC, Comm Umbrella, D&O, Flood or WC), OR, if not selling, then a side-by-side comparison of coverage of 4 different policies (chosen from the above mentioned policies). A verification form will be provided at your first class and it will be due back to MAIA within 2 weeks of your last class.
*CE is NOT based on examination results.

Continuing Education Requirement:

You will have to earn at least 6 hours of CEUs per year to maintain the CCLP designation. These 6 hours can come from various sources, but documentation of attendance must be supplied to us if it is not taken through MAIA.

Cancellation Policy:

There will be a $55.00 penalty fee if we are not notified in advance of fourteen (14) business days of the scheduled program. Failure to cancel prior to the class will result in loss of full registration fee.
