Agency Perpetuation: Key Considerations for Agency Perpetuation and Access to Capital

This session is designed to explore the current state of the M&A market and familiarize agency owners and principals with the key components of financially planning and preparing for perpetuation or acquisition. The financial aspects and economic case for perpetuation will be discussed. Agency owners will be demystified of accessing capital for growth. In addition, agency owners will have a better understanding of the value of their agency and will learn of options to enhance the value of their businesses.


Robert J. Pettinicchi, a 30-year veteran of the financial services industry, directs all lending activities for InsurBanc and Connecticut Community Bank, NA. He is the architect of InsurBanc’s highly-successful lending products directed to the independent agency community. During his industry career, Mr. Pettinicchi, a commercial lending expert, has managed lending and credit operations at both regional banks and specialty finance companies. His past positions include Senior Vice President and Division Manager at UPS Capital Business Credit in Hartford, CT., and Vice President and Regional Commercial Lending Manager at People’s Bank in Hartford, CT. Mr. Pettinicchi’s employment history also includes Barclays American Business Credit Inc., where he served as Vice President and Senior Business Development Officer in the Special Industries Finance Division; and Bank of Boston, where he was Assistant Vice President and Credit Officer. Mr. Pettinicchi is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a BS in Finance and holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Graduate School of Business.
