Mind Full or Mindful? Tips and Tricks to De-Stress

Want to try new ways to care for yourself at work, and not just care for the clients? This workshop provides a foundation for understanding and practicing mindfulness, a proven way to reduce stress and improve wellbeing and productivity. The session will cover what mindfulness is, some of the basic mechanics of self-awareness, and an overview of the proven health and business benefits. Participants will have the opportunity to try several different mindfulness practices within the session and discuss their experiences and questions. This session is specifically tailored to busy professionals and will include practical tips and tricks for integrating mindfulness into the work day in as little as one minute.

Julie builds bridges of understanding between and within business people. She founded Present Source to help clients create environments where all people can flourish. With a 35-year work history primarily as an industry analyst and software marketer, she has experienced first-hand the stress and challenges of being a busy professional. Her passion for leading teams to working, moving, communicating and collaborating mindfully and taking pauses in the workday to regain energy, calm and focus shines in her facilitation.

Education: BA Magna Cum Laude, Lawrence University; MESA GEP CoA, Certified Yoga Teacher and Meditation Teacher; Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Mindful Boston, Certified Conscious Business Change Agent (CBCA) from Humanity’s Team Conscious Business Initiative.

Jim Schaffer is a mindfulness trainer and consultant who has had a decades-long career in the corporate world. He began his career in Boston as a New England Life agent, working with young doctors in the Harvard Medical-affiliated hospitals. He had obtained his NASD license and was part-way towards his CLU when he was recruited into the newly emerging software industry. For the past several decades, he has been a senior salesman and sales manager in the technology, advertising and market research businesses.

Jim has been conducting workshops and speaking on mindfulness in business since 1990. He helps organizations and leaders develop the ability to see things clearly, focus on getting results, and maintain high morale & deep resilience, regardless of what is going on around them. He has been a featured speaker at the Boston Whole Health Expo and the Babson College International Symposium on Business and Spirituality. Jim lives with his wife in the Boston area.
