Tutoring & Mentoring Services

You Hired a New Employee with Little Insurance Background...
MAIA Can Assist You with Tutoring & Mentoring Services!
So your new employee has little to no insurance background and you want to get them up to speed as fast as possible. What do you do? You choose from the following:
1. You believe in initiation by fire and say..."Here is your desk, get to work."
(This may be the least expensive way, but in the long run, it becomes the most expensive way due to errors and turnover.)
2. You have great staff members who are very knowledgeable so you decide to pull them in to help train.
(Your staff members accept this, but pulling them to help train means: you are interfering with your agency's daily work flow, you lose their productivity, they get behind in their work and you end up frustrating a valuable employee)
3. You use your Education Department at the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents.
(Tutoring & Mentoring Services tailored to meet your needs and agency's mission)

Of course there is a cost involved, but can you afford NOT to train? Consider the findings below that occur in businesses that invest in employee training vs. those that don’t...

  • Increase productivity and performance improvement at a faster pace
  • Provide stricter adherence to agency policies and work flow at a faster pace
  • Improve customer satisfaction
  • Increase employee morale and retention AND
  • Increase Revenue!
    • Increased down time and lower productivity
    • Increase in errors
    • Uncommitted Employee
    • Lack of Motivation/Distraction of Co-Workers AND
    • Rework!
    How It Works...It's Easy as 1, 2, 3!
    1. Establish What Training is Needed/Wanted
    Some things to think of:
    • What is the desired focus - Personal Lines or Commercial Lines
    • Do you want them licensed?
    • Do you want them to get the state required training in Fraud and Flood?
    • What product training is needed? (Insurance Basics: Homeowners, Auto, Commercial Property, Commercial General Liability etc...)
    • Do you want an educational plan established for them at the end?
    • Do you want access to continued mentorship?
    2. Set up a time frame to get the needed training accomplished
    Some things to think of:
    • How many days of the week, how many hours in the day do you want them to be with their tutor/mentor?
    • How long would you like the training to be?
    • Do you have one or two new employees that you are going to put through this? (Up to 2 can participate at the same time)
    • Do you have other employees who could perhaps benefit from one of the topics chosen; if so, they could join in during that time so keep their schedule in mind also.
    3. Have your employees trained by some of the best instructors available!
