WC: Carrier Change Announcement

The Number One Insurance Agency was recently notified that our access to ACE USA would be changing due to their decision to exit the mono-line WC market in New England, New York and several other areas nationwide.  This will take effect on May 2, 2011 for all our ACE renewals.

We have secured access to AmTrust North America and will be working to replace all ACE business with this new carrier. We have already begun working with them on New Business and have initiated the roll-over for May, June and July.

Workflow and commission with AmTrust will remain as we had established for our ACE business, so there will be no changes for our agents. If for some reason, we need any additional information on any of your ACE accounts during this roll-over process, we will contact you directly.

Feel free to contact Colleen Lahna, Workers’ Compensation Manager via email at clahna@massagent.com or by phone at (508) 634-7361 if you have any individual questions or concerns.

As always – we thank you for your business!!!

LPLI: Risk Management Email Blasts Available to Agents & Insureds

Swiss Re’s risk management team provides monthly Risk and Loss Prevention emails to insureds that have a valid email address on file with the company. These short monthly news blasts are a great way to keep firms thinking about loss prevention all year. Additionally, as the agent you may want to receive this publication as a way of staying informed on the risk management basics at the law firm level.

Swiss Re has asked us to assist them in keeping their email distribution list up to date. If you as the agent, or if a policyholder would like all of the attorneys within their firm to receive the risk management emails, please forward a list of email addresses to Beth Whitney, (elizabeth_whitney@swissre.com) Swiss Re’s Risk and Loss Control Expert, and she will add them to her distribution list.

Thank you for your assistance in keeping this distribution list up to date. If you have further questions about the Lawyers Professional Liability program offered by Number One Insurance and Swiss Re, please contact Michelle St. Angelo, Program Manager, by email at mstangelo@massagent.com or by phone at 800.742.6363 ext 364.

LTCi: How Program Commissions work for you

Are you looking for a new revenue stream without a lot of effort on your part?

We thought you’d say YES! The Number One Insurance Agency has joined forces with Tobe Gerard Insurance, LLC to help provide MA agents a way to offer Long Term Care Insurance to their clients with little effort and big payoff!

How does it work?

1. Meet with Tobe to review your agency’s LTCi prospect list and discuss a prospecting strategy.  Together you and Tobe will decide how your agency will be represented and how your insured’s will be approached.

2. Tobe will prospect, meet with, quote and service the referrals you provide her.

3. Your agency is included on all policies that are written with Tobe Gerard.

How do the commissions work?

This program allows your agency to share in 50% of the carrier’s commission rate for the life of the policy. Commissions vary by carrier and product but a typical example based on one LTCi Policy with $2,000 premium could be:
Policy Year The Carrier Pays You Earn
Year 1: 60% commission or $1200 $600
Years 2-10: 5% commission or $100/year $50 per year
Year 11 and beyond: 1.5% commission or $30/year $15 per year

Individuals and businesses are both potential LTCi buyers. In many cases they are eager to speak to an LTCi expert as part of the retirement planning process or when considering the addition of a new employee benefit.

This is well worth the effort of sitting down with Tobe for a short meeting. Imagine the potential of just selling 4 policies a month that could add roughly $30,000 to your bottom line in year one!  Get things started by contacting Tobe today by email at tgerard@tobegerardinsurance.com or by phone at 508-653-8110.
