RLI:Summer Promo Continues....

We’ve had a great response to the RLI Summer Promo. Keep on writing those umbrellas, and we’ll continue to keep you and your officemates caffeinated!

As a reminder....

With the purchases of summer homes, boats, and jetskis – our RLI Personal Umbrella business always picks up in the summer months.

Since our member agents do all the initial work to get these policies written, we thought we would reward our “hard working agents" with a little pick-me-up.

For any New RLI Personal Umbrella effective in July, August & September, that we bind for your agency, you will earn a $5.00 Gift Card to Dunkin Donuts.

So stay refreshed, recharged and keep on writing new business!

(Gift Cards will be mailed to the agency after the policy is bound. 150 Cards went out last week alone!)

For questions or for assistance with the RLI Programs, contact Linda Hafner, RLI Program Manager, at lhafner@massagent.com or call 800.742.6363, ext. 368.

We work for you…

Here at Number One, we love our agents! And we want to you to receive the best service possible.

As the agency that works for you, we want to remind you that our staff is usually the best source of information for the programs we offer. In most cases, you will receive the most accurate and fastest service possible when you contact the appropriate Program Manager here at Number One, instead of trying to contact the carrier directly with your questions.

LPLI: Changing Landscapes Consider Your Options

As the economy swings to the rhythm of rating agencies, speculators, and Wall Street, the Lawyers Professional Liability marketplace has changed its tune over time as well. For many agents and insureds it’s a good time to quote out professional liability policies to ensure that firms are considering all of their available options with regards to price, coverage and stability in the marketplace.

Michelle St. Angelo, LPLI Program Manager, is happy to quote your lawyer accounts with our Swiss Re product. As a reminder, LPLI applications are a bit complex and take between 1-2 weeks for a full underwriting review to occur. It’s best to plan ahead and send those applications in early for the best service possible.

Questions and new submissions should be directed to Michelle St. Angelo. She can be reached by email at mstangelo@massagent.com or by phone at 800.742.6363 ext 364.

E&O: A Natural Discussion

Last week was certainly something! We hope that damage caused by Irene was minimal in your neck of the woods and that power has been restored to your homes and offices.

Between the Virginia Earthquake, Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene and subsequent damage caused by downed trees, flooding and power outages, last week was a vivid reminder that Mother Nature can be unpredictable and potentially costly.

Natural catastrophes can expose your agency to costly E&O claims. That is why as an insurance agent you need to have all the resources available to protect your clients as well as yourself.  The potential E&O exposures that insurance agents could face from natural catastrophes were discussed in the recent Big I webinar Avoiding E&O Claims from Catastrophes. The webinar included valuable stats on catastrophic events from Dr. Robert Hartwig from the Insurance Information Institute and key considerations that agents should be thinking about when offering insurance to their customers. Click Here to access this valuable webinar. Swiss Re policyholders can also go to www.iiaba.net/eohappens to access the webinar from the Home tab along with other earthquake resources and agency risk management tools.

Remember, it takes an uncovered loss to create an E&O claim for your agency.  Right now you have your customers’ attention concerning natural disasters. Take this opportunity to inform them about their current limits and protection (or lack thereof) for earthquake, flood and other property concerns and document your file accordingly.

If you would like to discuss your own E&O limits and options, feel free to contact our E&O Program Managers. Ellen Stoppel and Michelle St. Angelo are happy to assist you with what may be one of the most important policies you buy.
